About NJ Oil Tank Removal
Connecting New Jersey homeowners with NJDEP-certified oil tank removal specialists since 2008.
Who We Are
NJ Oil Tank Removal is a specialized referral network connecting homeowners, real estate agents, and property managers across New Jersey with licensed, NJDEP-certified underground storage tank (UST) removal contractors. We serve all 21 counties of New Jersey, from Bergen and Essex in the north to Cape May and Cumberland in the south.
We built this platform because we saw a consistent problem: homeowners facing urgent oil tank removal needs โ often in the middle of a real estate transaction โ had no reliable way to find a vetted, certified contractor quickly. Generic contractor directories mixed licensed professionals with unlicensed operators. Pricing was opaque. The NJDEP regulatory process was confusing.
Our mission is simple: transparent pricing, verified credentials, and fast connections to the right contractor for your specific county and situation.
Credentials & Compliance Standards
Every contractor in our network holds the required New Jersey credentials for underground storage tank work. We verify credentials before listing any contractor on this platform.
NJDEP UST Contractor License
Required under N.J.A.C. 7:14B for any contractor performing underground storage tank removal in New Jersey. Issued by the NJ Department of Environmental Protection.
Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP)
NJDEP-licensed professionals who oversee site remediation and sign off on NJDEP closure documentation. Required for any case involving soil contamination. Governed by the Site Remediation Reform Act (N.J.S.A. 58:10C).
NJ One Call (811) Compliance
All contractors coordinate with NJ One Call (811) at least 3 business days before excavation, as required by New Jersey law, to mark underground utilities and prevent damage.
General Liability Insurance
All network contractors carry a minimum of $2 million in general liability insurance and are bonded. Certificates of insurance are available upon request before any work begins.
Our Commitment to Transparency
The oil tank removal industry in New Jersey has historically suffered from opaque pricing and unlicensed operators taking advantage of homeowners under duress. We built this platform around three commitments:
- Flat-Rate Pricing: Every quote we provide is a flat-rate price โ not an hourly estimate. The price you receive is the price you pay, barring unexpected contamination discovered during removal.
- Verified Credentials: We verify NJDEP license numbers before listing any contractor. We do not list contractors who cannot provide proof of current NJDEP certification and insurance.
- Sourced Information: All regulatory information on this site is sourced directly from the NJDEP UST Program, the EPA Underground Storage Tank program, and New Jersey statutes. We cite our sources so you can verify everything independently.
